Sunday my eyes followed my sister's oversized desert Tortoise in her backyard, meandering by slowly, savoring the sun, nibbling on some plants, free to roam as he wished. He was serene and peaceful. I think he was smiling. I rubbed the sides of his face and tickled under his chin. He closed his eyes and he allowed the affection. The attention did not bother him and he did not bite me. Had he bitten me I would cease to show affection and not pay him any mind anymore.
I really have nothing compelling to say except emulating the tortoise is an enviable transformation- his output of energy or lack there of and his small cares in the world.
There are no eloquent words to read here, no healthy tips or yummy foods to make, no witty story of a misshaped adventure. No bloggy buy this lingerie before it's all gone. No tales of coconut oil or how pumpkin oil is sweeping the nation. Just a wise tortoise reserving energy.
Energy may be infinite in the universe but finite bound in an individual even if that individual believes or pretends it is endless. Aristotle says "A friend to all is a friend to none" I want to hug him for that one. High five Aristotle.
